Swim Gifts That Don’t Need a Size
Skip the swimsuit and buy the cover-up, hat, bag or wrap that fits everyone, then let her pick the suit. That is the short answer to swimwear gift ideas when you do not know her size — and it is usually the kinder one.

The real gifting problem with swimwear is fit. A suit that looks perfect on a product page can still miss across the bust, the hip or the torso, and holiday return windows do not always land before the trip. So this list stays inside the swim wardrobe that does not need a size: one-size drape cover-ups, packable hats, totes, wet bags, sarongs, and a gift-card note for the suit itself. For how those pieces sit in a fuller closet, start with our luxury swim capsule wardrobe.

One-size drape vs adjustable vs fixed accessory
Before you add anything to cart, sort the gift into one of three jobs. It keeps you honest about what “one size” actually means.
- One-size drape — a kaftan or sarong cut to hang. The listing should say one size / one size fits most, with a bust and length measurement you can check against her height. No zippers that have to land at a numbered size.
- Adjustable wrap or tie — a sarong or wrap you knot. Fit comes from how she ties it, not from an S/M/L chart. Still confirm the panel is large enough; a 43×57-inch chiffon wrap behaves differently from a short hip scarf.
- Fixed-size accessory — hat, tote, wet bag, sunglasses, SPF. These are not clothing sizes. Hats still list a head-circumference range; bags and bottles do not.
What we left off on purpose: numbered swimsuit sizes, mesh cover-up dresses sold in S–XL, and anything that only works if you already know her cup and torso. Those belong on a gift card or a shared wishlist — not under the tree as a surprise. If she already knows the silhouette she wants, send her to our matching swimsuit and cover-up guide or the newer sheer overlay edit and let her choose.
The one-size kaftan: drape that reads like a dress
A batwing kaftan is the safest “open the box and wear it to lunch” swim gift. Look for a true one-size / OSFM callout, a measured bust well into the 50s (inches), and a length that clears the knee for most heights. Viscose and rayon drape soft; they are not chlorine armor — treat them as the layer over the suit, not the suit.
Eddoyee One-Size Beach Kaftan

Listing calls this one size fits most (US S–XXL) with a 55.1″ bust and 51.2″ length — real drape numbers, not a vague “free size.” Viscose shell, batwing sleeve, V-neck. We checked it in stock the morning this post went live; colors rotate, so confirm the print you want.
- Best for: resort breakfast-to-pool days when she wants a cover-up that still photographs like a dress
- Pair with: a lined one-piece she already owns, flat sandals, a small clutch for dinner
- Fit note: one-size drape; check the length against her height if she is under 5’2″ or well over 5’9″
The packable hat: sun gift that skips clothing sizes
Hats still have a circumference range — they are not magic — but they skip bust/hip charts entirely. Gift the ones that list an adjustable inner band plus a chin strap for coastal wind. Packable paper-straw styles crush into a tote better than stiff wool felts (we skipped a wool Vivian today because it was unavailable and wrong for warm sand anyway).

FURTALK Packable Wide-Brim Sun Hat

One size fits most for head circumferences about 22.2–23.2″, with an adjustable inner strap and chin strap. Paper-straw outer, linen inner, UPF 50 on the listing, 3.35″ brim. Foldable for a carry-on. In stock when we checked; khaki is the color we carded.
- Best for: winter-sun decks, boat days, and anyone who hates a bare forehead in open light
- Pair with: polarized sunglasses, a mineral SPF stick for the ears
- Fit note: confirm her usual hat size sits inside that circumference band; the adjuster helps, it does not invent inches
The sarong: adjustable wrap, not a numbered dress
A sarong is the adjustable middle lane: she ties the fit. Gift a generous panel (look for roughly 40″+ on the short side) in quick-dry chiffon or rayon, and skip the ones that only work as a tiny hip scarf. Beach gift guides keep landing on sarongs for exactly this reason — Atlas Heart’s 2026 beach-lover list calls out the wrap-as-skirt-or-shawl trick, and basket guides remind you to leave sized swimsuits out of surprise boxes.
Rossopesca One-Size Chiffon Sarong

Listed as one size at about 43.3″ × 57″ in 100% polyester chiffon. Tie it as a skirt, a halter, or a shawl. Prints vary; we carded the leopard colorway that was in stock on publish day. Lightweight and packable — passport-flat in a tote.
- Best for: beach-to-bar walks when she wants coverage she can retie after a swim
- Pair with: a simple bikini she already loves, gold hoops that survive a splash
- Fit note: adjustable by the knot; sheer chiffon means the suit still shows — that is the point
The tote with a wet pocket (and the wet bag that lives inside it)
A beach tote is the gift that gets used the week they leave, not the week they remember to try on a suit. Prioritize a separate wet compartment so a damp maillot does not soak the phone and the paperback. Pair it with a small zippered wet bag she can clip to the tote handle for the walk back to the room — ALOHA Collection’s own gift edit still puts a wet pouch near the top of the list for the same reason.

CAMTOP Beach Tote with Wet Compartment

About 17.3″ × 15″ × 7.3″ with a dedicated wet compartment for damp suits and towels, plus side bottle pockets. Waterproof / sandproof polyester shell on the listing. No clothing size — just print. Tie-dye colorway carded; other prints rotate.
- Best for: pool days, gym-to-shower, and carry-on beach weekends
- Pair with: a slim wet bag, travel SPF, a packable hat
- Fit note: one bag size; the wet pocket is the feature that makes it a swim gift
Zippered Wet Bag for Suit + Towel

About 12.5″ × 16″ with a TPU-lined interior and a snap loop so it hangs off a tote handle. Sized for a swimsuit plus a standard bath towel — not a giant beach sheet. Navy is the color we photographed; stock moves fast on these, so confirm the color before checkout.
- Best for: keeping the rest of the tote dry after the last swim
- Pair with: the CAMTOP tote above, or any open beach bag she already owns
- Fit note: accessory size only — buy two if the trip is a week of daily swims
What about the suit itself?
Give a gift card — or a note that she gets to pick — and point her at a fit guide instead of guessing a size under wrapping paper. Lined one-pieces and mix-and-match tops still need her measurements. If she is packing for Dec–March sun, our winter sun swimwear hub spells out the capsule (one lined maillot, one bikini, a wind layer, a hat). For a week that has to fit in a carry-on, use the carry-on beach vacation packing list.
A simple cart that does not need her size
- One-size kaftan (drape)
- Packable wide-brim hat (fixed accessory, check circumference)
- Sarong wrap (adjustable tie)
- Tote with wet pocket + a small wet bag
- Gift card or wishlist link for the suit
That is the whole play: skip the numbered swimsuit, wrap the pieces that welcome every body, and let her choose the suit when the tape measure is in her hand — not yours.
